Celebrate Bike Month 2025

Celebrate all things biking with Commuter Services this May! May is National Bike Month, which makes it the perfect time to get out on your bike for your commute, your errands, everyday trips – and your health!

Commuter Services has a couple great events coming up during the month of May, and we’d like to invite you to join us!

Bike Month 2025: It’s time to roll!

Bike commuting has many benefits – saving money and avoiding traffic congestion being right near the top of the list. But biking for work and everyday errands can also be healthy and, more importantly, fun!

During the month of May, Commuter Services encourages you to try biking to work or take any other sustainable commute – carpool, transit, vanpool, walking or work from home – just once and enter to win one of three great prizes!

Starting May 1, you can take our Bike Month pledge to be entered to win:

  • A Lectric Bikes Xpress 750 eBike
  • $150 Visa gift card
  • A Bike Swag Bag filled with goodies to help you on your ride

Join us at our 2025 Bike Month Celebration or other fairs and events this month for more prize drawings!

Principles of Bike Safety

Friday, May 9 | 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Get your biking season rolling with safety in mind! Join Commuter Services and BikeMN for the Principles of Bike Safety free webinar on Friday, May 9.

The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota (BikeMN) leads the state in bicycle education programs and initiatives, and we are thrilled to have BikeMN’s Deputy Director Angela Olson lead the Bike Safety 101 webinar.

Angela’s presentation will cover the basics of bike safety. She’ll start with principles of bike safety, including equipment and fit, biking behavior, and preparing to ride. Then, she’ll move on to bike basics—Minnesota bike laws, lane positioning, night riding, and personal safety.

If you’re new to biking or need a refresher, this online safety session will help you and your family have a successful – and safe – biking season.

Then, Commuter Services will give a brief overview of our free biking commuting resources and other sustainable commute options available for employers, commuters, and residents.

Registration is open. This webinar will be recorded; all who register will also receive a link to the recording for on-demand viewing and a set of the session slides.
